How to use this tool
- Choose your PDF. A preview of every page appears.
- Click any page to turn it 90° clockwise. Click again to keep turning it. Use the buttons above to rotate every page at once.
- When every page looks right, click Save rotated PDF.
Why pages end up sideways
Most sideways pages come from scanners and phone scanning apps. A page placed the wrong way on the glass, or a phone that guessed the orientation wrongly, produces a page that reads at 90° or 180°. Documents that mix portrait and landscape pages, such as a report with a wide table, are another common cause.
How the rotation is saved
A PDF page has a rotation setting that tells PDF readers how to display it. This tool changes that setting instead of redrawing the page. That has two benefits: the content is not altered or re-compressed, and the change is instant even for large files. The rotation is saved permanently in the new file, so it looks correct in every PDF reader, not only on your screen.
Good habits for scanned documents
- Check every page in the preview. A batch scan often has just one or two pages the wrong way round.
- Rotate first, then merge, so you only need to fix each file once.
- If a page is slightly tilted (not a full 90°), this tool cannot straighten it. Rescanning is the best fix.
